TBT YLC: With the 2019 Metro Nashville General Election coming up on August 1, here’s a look back four years ago when a crowd of more than 100 YLC alumni and Junior League of Nashville members gathered at the Junior League HQ to hear the 2015 Mayoral candidates at an Open Mic Reception. For this year’s election, YLC encourages all alumni to learn about each of the candidates running for Mayor, Vice Mayor, Council At Large and Council Districts to make an informed decision. The last day to vote early at 11 locations around Nashville is this Saturday, July 27. Nashville Emerging Leader Awards (NELA) are presented each year by Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce and YP Nashville to recognize Middle Tennessee’s young professionals under the age of 40 for significant accomplishments in their chosen career field as well as their commitment and contribution to the community. NELA winners will be announced during the 13th annual NELA Ceremony on Thursday, Aug. 1, 2019 at Lipscomb University with a celebration following at Hutton Hotel. Tickets are $55 for the ceremony and after-party package, which includes hors d’oeuvres and drinks or $35 for the ceremony alone. All ticket options can be viewed and purchased at the link below. Five finalists in 14 industry classifications were announced two months ago with one winner in each industry to be awarded next week. Creative Artists of Tennessee, Inc.‘s mission is to promote an interest and awareness of ethnic diversity in the arts while providing support for emerging artists and young people with limited cultural access to the arts. Franklin Tomorrow‘s 13th annual Exemplary Community Volunteer Awards will be presented on July 24 at 7pm at The Franklin Theatre to celebrate those volunteers who work tirelessly to make Franklin a better place. In partnership with Jackson National Life Insurance Company, awards are presented in a variety of categories to individuals, businesses and civic groups with nominations being accepted by local nonprofits and individuals. Several YLC alumni from our Williamson Chamber classes have been nominated for this year’s awards, including Sydney Ball (YLC/Williamson Chamber Class 2016), Chase Harper (YLC/Williamson Chamber Class 2017) and Jared King (YLC/Williamson Chamber Class 2015) for Emerging Leader Award; and Patrick Baggett (YLC/Williamson Chamber Class 2013) and Carmen Stanek (YLC/Williamson Chamber Class 2017) for Volunteer Spirit Award.
