YLC is partnering with Conexion Next to celebrate the kick-off of the two YLC Fall classes and Hispanic Heritage Month at Casa Azafrán, 2195 Nolensville Pike, this Tuesday, September 24 from 6pm-8pm. This event is 21+. Free admission includes two drink tickets and appetizers. Limited spots available and pre-registration is required. Conexion Next is Nashville’s newest emerging leader network that dedicates its work to promote the vision and mission of Conexion Americas, a non-profit that is building a welcoming community and creating opportunities where Latino families can belong, contribute and succeed. Thanks to JC Torres, a current YLC Class 73 participant, for organizing this great event to celebrate what makes the Nashville area so special–dedicated young leaders and the cultural diversity that makes our lives richer!
Thanks to Chris Weinman (Class 69), Matthew Drewes (Class 61) and Elam Freeman (Class 70) on the Walk Bike Nashville board for their efforts in promoting protected bike lanes to ensure that all riders, no matter the mode of transit they choose, are safer on city streets. See the pop-up bike lane on Commerce Street from 3rd Ave. to 5th Ave. as part of the annual PARK(ing) Day celebration this Friday, 9am-3pm with a guided tour at 12pm. Come learn about the plan for these bike (and scooter) lanes and see for yourself how Commerce St. could be safer for everyone.
Thanks to Caitlin Reed (YLC/Junior League Class 2017) for letting us know about this cool event hosted by Next Chapter Society that benefits Nashville Public Library Foundation. Taking place at the beautiful downtown main library on Friday, September 27 at 6pm, guests will enjoy food, drinks and live music from The Barefoot Movement in the Robinson Family Courtyard, before moving into the library for the String City performance, a lively telling of the history of country music using marionettes, rod puppetry and shadow/animation puppetry, followed by a special set by Old Crow Medicine Show. General admission tickets are $100 and can be purchased here. Don’t miss this unique and entertaining event to support one of our favorite nonprofit partners!
