It was standing room only on 8/28/19 at the YLC Impact Luncheon presented by PNC Bank focusing on collective impact with Samantha Wigand with Center for Nonprofit Management moderating a panel discussion with Corinne Bergeron (YLC/Jackson National Class 2014) with Frist Foundation, and Rebecca Carter with United Way of Metropolitan Nashville. More than 70 YLC alumni, fall class participants and community and business leaders enjoyed box lunches and learning about this collaborative approach to creating change. Heritage Ball Late Party Hosted by Heritage Foundation’s Next Gen on October 5

The Heritage Foundation of Williamson County preserves the communities and cultural heritage of Williamson County by working with area leaders to continually care for historic spaces, treasured landmarks, and cherished local businesses. The 46th annual Heritage Ball, the longest running black-tie affair in Williamson County, has added a Late Party for young professionals between the ages of 21 and 40 on Saturday, October 5 at Eastern Flank Battlefield Park in Franklin with presenting sponsor Estee Lauder. Enjoy hors d’oeuvres and open bar at 8pm and dancing from 9:30pm until midnight. All Late Party guests will be able to join Heritage Ball guests for a performance by Kix Brooks. Purchase your ticket this week to take advantage of the early bird price of $125. Ticket price increases to $150 starting August 31. Celebrate National Dog Day at The BE-Hive End of Summer Cookout on Aug. 31 Benefiting Nashville Humane Association

Did you know that August 26 is #NationalDogDay? Why not celebrate our furry friends the WHOLE week with The BE-Hive End of Summer Cookout this Saturday, benefiting our friends at Nashville Humane Association? Not only will there be be food and drinks from The BE-Hive, Succulent Vegan Tacos, Radical Rabbit, Five Points Pizza, Rose Gold Bakery, Absolut Juice and Bearded Iris Brewing, there will be music by KDSML and ORIG the DJ, a Dunk Tank, merchandise from Hail, Dark Aesthetics and best of all…adoptable puppy dogs! Admission is free with each vendor donating a percentage of proceeds to Nashville Humane Association, which is committed to finding responsible homes, controlling pet overpopulation and promoting the humane treatment of animals. The event takes place on August 31, 11am-4pm at the The BE-Hive parking lot at 2414 Gallatin Ave in Nashville. Be there!

YLC Former Board Chair James Crumlin Making News for His Capitol Steps Workout

It’s always a treat when we find out one of our YLC alumni has been featured on television. Here’s an inspiring story that aired on June 21 on NewsChannel 5 about James Crumlin (Class 41), an attorney at Bone McAllester Norton PLLC who has been leading the “Capitol Steps Workout” on Monday and Thursday evenings for the past seven years. Find out what motivated this former YLC board chair to start running up and down the steps and, if you’re up for the challenge, how you can join the fitness group that focuses on positivity and encouragement (and lunges and planks, too)! They’re all YLC alumni who were 2019 winners of Nashville Business Journal‘s 40 Under 40 awards! How would you like to see your name listed as a 2020 winner for the 12th annual awards? Have someone nominate you or nominate another outstanding young professional under the age of 40 by October 20. The 40 winners will be highlighted in a special publication and honored at an awards luncheon next year. Since 2009, more than 85 40 Under 40 award winners have been YLC alumni.
